The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a heatwave across the country for three consecutive days. The country is expected to experience 72 hours of intense heat and high humidity starting Sunday.
In most regions of the country, very hot and humid conditions will persist during the day, while the northern coast is expected to have hot and humid weather. Nights and early morning hours will only be slightly warm and humid.
According to EMA data, maximum temperatures in Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt will reach 36°C until mid-week, after which they will drop to 35°C on Wednesday and Thursday. Maximum temperatures along the northern coast will fluctuate between 30–31°C, while in Upper Egypt they may reach 37–38°C, and in the southern Upper Egypt up to 41°C.
High humidity will cause the perceived temperature to be two to four degrees Celsius higher than the actual temperature in the shade.
Weather maps warn of possible fog formation between 4 AM and 8 AM on some roads leading to Northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, Suez Canal cities, Central Sinai, and Northern Upper Egypt. Drivers are advised to exercise caution, especially during early morning hours.
Satellite images have recorded periodic wind activity across most of the country throughout the week. EMA strongly urges citizens to regularly monitor weather forecasts, avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours, and consume sufficient water and fluids.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has released a weather forecast confirming that hot and humid conditions will persist in most regions of the country on Saturday.
Humidity levels will remain consistently high, causing the temperature to feel higher than the actual values recorded in the shade, as typical summer conditions continue to dominate during this time of year.
EMA specified that during the daytime hours, hot, humid, or even extremely hot weather is expected in most areas of the republic. However, at night and early in the morning, the temperature will become more moderate, although humidity levels will remain high—this is a standard pattern for this time of summer.
The Authority also noted that the persistently high humidity level is one of the most noticeable features of the current weather pattern. This factor significantly increases the perceived temperature compared to the actual average readings, especially in the afternoon when the daytime heat reaches its peak.
