In the evening of July 11, a smell of burning was felt in several districts of the capital, which was attributed to a fire at the 'Makhsustrans' household waste landfill in the Okhangaron district, as well as a change in wind direction.
Residents of districts such as Yashnobod, Bektemir, Yakkasaroy, Shaikhontohur, and the central district of the capital reported smelling smoke and burning.
According to the Waste Management Agency, the open flame at the landfill has been extinguished. Nevertheless, internal combustion continued in some layers of waste, leading to the emission of smoke and fine particles into the atmosphere. Currently, reclamation and covering of the burned areas with soil are underway at the landfill.
Environmental specialists linked this situation to a change in wind direction. The wind was almost absent until late in the evening, but after 7:00 PM, it intensified and began blowing towards Tashkent from the southeast. As a result, the smoke released from the landfill spread towards the capital.
Simultaneously, air monitoring stations recorded an excess concentration of fine particles PM2.5 and PM10. Preliminary information indicates that the cause of the burning smell in the Tashkent region was the combustion at the landfill and the change in wind direction towards the capital.
The informal economy poses a serious obstacle to the development of any country, as it leads to a reduction in state budget revenues, limits the interests of honest entrepreneurs, violates the competitive environment, and lowers investment attractiveness.
Currently, New Uzbekistan is applying modern methods based on the capabilities of digital technologies and artificial intelligence to combat this problem, instead of outdated approaches. It is expected that the work being carried out in the Bukhara region will become an example worthy of attention not only at the republican but also at the international level.
At a video selection meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the results of the first quarter and key tasks until the end of the year for ensuring economic growth in the regions were discussed. A clear methodology for countering the informal economy was defined. The head of state particularly emphasized the need to organize work in all regions based on this system and to form the 'Bukhara experience' in this area.
As part of fulfilling these instructions, a comprehensive study was conducted of the measures taken in the Center for Digital Governance of the regional government to reduce the informal economy. The possibilities of a modern electronic platform, created based on the digitization of the historical Old City of Bukhara, were presented. This new digital system provides fast, accurate, and reliable information about hotels, restaurants, national craft shops, cultural heritage sites, and other services for tourists. This not only facilitates visitors' lives but also contributes to increasing the efficiency of entrepreneurs' activities, increasing customer flow, and raising the quality of services to a new level.
It is important to note that this platform serves not only tourism. It functions as an effective digital tool for combating the informal economy. The platform allows for complete accounting of services, strengthening tax control, forming a healthy competitive environment, and ensuring a balance between the interests of the state, entrepreneurs, and consumers.
The analytical capabilities of the system are also noteworthy. It automatically classifies subjects in the tourism sector into 'green', 'yellow', and 'red' categories, assessing the risk level. Thus, risks such as operating without a license, concealing actual turnover, reducing jobs and payroll funds, as well as artificially lowering profitability and profit, are identified automatically, without human intervention. This elevates the activity of supervisory bodies to a completely new level. Inspections are now conducted not randomly, but purposefully, based on digital analytics. Resources and forces of responsible agencies are directed precisely to the most risky points, which leads to a tangible reduction in the human factor. As a result, transparency is ensured and the risk of corruption is reduced.
During the presentation, the head of the region, Botir Zaripov, put forward a number of proposals for further improving the platform. Issues regarding the development of interactive maps, the introduction of multilingual services, the expansion of online booking and electronic payment capabilities were discussed to make it more attractive to both local and foreign tourists. The Vice Governor emphasized that the main focus in combating the informal economy should be on digitalization, strengthening information exchange between state bodies, minimizing the human factor, and conducting targeted supervision.
Furthermore, responsible persons were tasked with integrating existing information systems into a unified platform in a short time, covering all sectors with this system, and fully commissioning it. Specific instructions were given on creating equal conditions of competition for all business entities, increasing the responsibility of specialists in combating the informal economy, and further strengthening control mechanisms.
The digital solution created in Bukhara is not just an information platform. It is an intelligent system that ensures economic transparency, supports honest entrepreneurs, strengthens investor confidence, and advances public administration to a new stage. If this experience yields the expected results, the 'Bukhara experience' will undoubtedly become the most effective model for combating the informal economy across the country.
A systematic inspection continues to protect consumer rights and ensure that safe and quality products enter the market. During recent checks, it was found that some perfume products sold in the Tashkent region do not comply with established technical requirements.
The Technical Regulation Inspection of the territorial department in the Tashkent region conducted checks at retail points. Samples were taken from eight different types of perfume products and subsequently subjected to laboratory tests to assess their safety indicators and compliance with current technical standards.
Specifically, samples of a perfume product named 'Infinite Love', imported by the company 'SEANS MEAN' LLC, registered at Sh. Rashidova Street in the city of Chirchik, Tashkent region, underwent laboratory analysis. The results showed that this product does not meet the established standards. It was noted that the mass fraction of ethyl alcohol in the product's composition does not comply with regulatory requirements.
Warning letters were sent to the trade entities regarding the identified violations. Furthermore, appropriate measures were taken to withdraw this product from circulation and suspend its sale.
The death of one of Sultan Hussein's horses during the Boykara era caused a serious trial among the courtiers, and the solution found surprised people. The reign of Sultan Hussein of Boykara (1469–1506) is distinguished by relative calm, cultural progress, and the development of science in the history of Turan. The capital city of Khirat became one of the brightest centers of knowledge and culture in the East. Sultan Hussein's special attachment to his horse named Ashhab (which translates as 'grey' or 'bright') is one of the vivid pages in history that reflects the personality of the ruler. In the traditions of Turkic statehood, the horse is not just a means of transport or war, but a symbol of the social status, power, and honor of the ruler. The poet Alisher Navoi also mentions Ashhab in his epic 'Khayrat ul-abror', praising its color and movement, comparing them to lightning. The historian Zeiniddin Vasifi in his work 'Badoye ul-waqo'e' described Ashhab as very fast and magnificent, using the metaphor that its speed surpasses ordinary notions.
