The discussion included heads of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan and Belarus, representatives of ministries and agencies, state enterprises, as well as the expert community. The Belarusian delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Economy, the state enterprise 'Beltamozhservis', the company 'International Business Alliance', as well as management and specialists from the National Institute of Transport Sciences 'Transtekhnika' and the foreign company 'IBA IT Park'.
From Uzbekistan, were present the heads of the Institute of Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (SMTI), the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Center for Studying Transport and Logistics Development Issues under the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as employees of the Agency for Strategic Development and Reforms under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the negotiations, the parties reviewed the current state and prospects for the further development of partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus. The main topics included the development of mutual trade, industrial and agricultural cooperation, strengthening transport and logistics links, and the introduction of new technologies. Special attention was paid to developing practical mechanisms for expanding cooperation and implementing mutually beneficial joint initiatives.
Oleg Makarov, Director of BSTI, highly praised the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, noting that the country has significantly intensified its foreign policy activities by attending numerous international events and strengthening its regional authority. He emphasized that relations between Belarus and Uzbekistan are built on the principles of mutual trust, openness, and respect, stating: 'Today there are practically no obstacles between Belarus and Uzbekistan.'
Alexander Ogorodnikov, Plenipotentiary and Special Envoy of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Uzbekistan, confirmed the stable and consistent development of relations between the two states, noting the formation of a strategic partnership that is constantly enriched with new projects and initiatives. The diplomat noted the steady positive pace of trade and economic cooperation and expressed confidence that the volume of mutual trade between Belarus and Uzbekistan will reach not only 1 billion US dollars by the end of the current year but will exceed this figure. He added that the next strategic goal is to achieve a turnover volume of 2 billion US dollars, and the parties intend to look for new growth points and promising directions for cooperation, despite the high bar.
Ogorodnikov also highlighted industrial and agricultural cooperation as key areas. In his opinion, the localization of Belarusian production facilities in Uzbekistan opens up great opportunities, and utilizing the republic's production potential creates a solid foundation for entering third-country markets. Regarding transport and logistics potential, the diplomat stressed that the lack of direct sea access for both countries motivates them to use efficient transport routes, and modern logistics infrastructure can become an important factor in the development of economic partnership amid the transformation of global transport flows.
Yury Chebotar, Minister of Economy of Belarus, highly praised the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation, pointing out that over the past ten years, the trade volume has increased 13 times, and the volume of trade in services has increased by more than 30 times. The Minister emphasized industrial cooperation, stating Belarus's readiness to invest in joint projects aimed at ensuring technology transfer and creating modern jobs. Furthermore, Chebotar stressed Belarus's interest in developing cooperation in the fields of technology, production automation, tourism, and services.
