According to GlobalPetrolPrices data, the price of AI-95 gasoline in Uzbekistan is among the highest in Central Asian countries, although globally it remains below the average level. A liter of fuel in the republic costs more than in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, and Azerbaijan.
Current Fuel Prices
As of July 6, 2026, the average cost of one liter of gasoline in Uzbekistan reaches 16,153.8 soms, equivalent to 1.342 dollars. This figure remains below the global average price, which is approximately 1.46 dollars per liter, but significantly exceeds the fuel cost in many CIS and Central Asian states.
Comparison with Neighbors and the World
Compared to neighboring countries, Uzbekistan demonstrates some of the highest prices for automotive fuel in the region. For example, in Turkmenistan, a liter of gasoline costs only 0.43 dollars, which is one of the lowest figures in the world. In Azerbaijan, the price is 0.676 dollars, and in Kazakhstan—0.687 dollars. In Russia, a liter costs 0.940 dollars, while in Kyrgyzstan—1.016 dollars. Belarus also offers relatively affordable gasoline in the CIS at a price of 0.942 dollars.
Global Leaders in Affordability
There are countries where the fuel price is several times lower than the global average. The absolute leader in affordability is Iran, where a liter of fuel costs about 0.03 dollars. Venezuela is also on the list of countries with minimal prices, offering fuel at a price of about 0.04 dollars per liter.
Economic Consequences
The high cost of fuel in Uzbekistan forces drivers to pay more than most of their neighbors in Central Asia, which directly affects transportation costs and the final price of goods. Previously, Kyrgyzstan sent official requests to Uzbekistan and other countries aimed at preventing fuel shortages. Furthermore, Kyrgyzstan plans to increase its own production of gasoline and other petroleum products.
