Amid geopolitical tensions, changes have been made to many rules concerning LPG. Gas companies have issued necessary instructions regarding the transfer of LPG connections, gas refueling reservations, and the transition to piped natural gas (PNG). If you are an LPG consumer planning to change address or home, it is crucial to familiarize yourself with these rules, otherwise your connection may be terminated.
Requirements When Changing Residence
Government employees also reported that several specific actions must be taken when changing homes. Furthermore, if you intend to switch to PNG, you should prepare a complete set of documents. Adhering to these rules will allow consumers to receive higher quality and simpler services.
Procedure for Changing Address
When changing homes: First, you must notify your gas company about the move and apply for the transfer of the connection. Documents such as an ID card, a certificate of the new address, a gas reservation voucher, and a connection voucher may be required.
When moving within the same area: If you are moving to an area served by the same company or to a new home within that zone, you do not need to change the connection itself. It is sufficient to update the address through the distributor at the agency so that LPG cylinder deliveries continue without interruption.
Moving to Another District or City
When moving to another district: If the new address is in the service area of a different gas company, you must obtain a Transfer Termination Voucher (TTV) from the current company. This document will serve as the basis for obtaining a connection with the new gas company. To complete the transfer, you must provide personal documents and documents issued by the old gas company.
When moving to another city: If you are moving to another city, you must first return your current LPG cylinder and regulator to the gas company. After this, the company will issue a contract termination voucher and then refund the deposited deposit. Then, after the documents are verified by the new company in the destination city, a new connection will be established.
Transitioning to PNG Connection
Over the past six months, more than 1.34 million new PNG connections have been established across the country. The number of such connections has significantly increased following the release of new government guidelines. The government aims to ensure 60 million PNG connections. If a person has both LPG and PNG connections, they will need to opt out of LPG. Also, if a person intends to get PNG, they must cancel their LPG connection.
