In Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the procedure for issuing VIP passes has been temporarily suspended. The head of the trusted council confirmed that employees whose identification data was used to process these passes have resigned, which caused temporary operational difficulties. He also reported that Gopal Rao is currently not actively engaged in any activities.
Changes in Administrative Powers
Previously, there was no fixed limit on the issuance of VIP passes, and over a hundred such passes could be issued if necessary. The head clarified that Gopal Rao worked as an assistant to Champat Rai and held administrative authority. It was emphasized that these resignations have not yet been officially accepted at the trusted council meeting, so technically, the rights of the respective officials remain valid even if they are temporarily inactive.
Strengthening Security Measures
Significant changes have been made to the temple's security system. The trusted council has hired army veterans to be stationed at various locations. Despite this, it is noted that donations from devotees have not decreased; now, most people prefer to make donations through the counters or the trusted council office, receiving receipts in the process.
New Accounting and Control System
Following the donation theft incident in Ram Mandir, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust has tightened control and the counting system. Thirteen new CCTV cameras have been installed to monitor the counting area. Twenty-seven additional SIS security personnel have been deployed to safely transport boxes of donations from the temple complex to the counting center. According to the new scheme, only 43 authorized personnel will be present at the counting site.
Police presence has also been reinforced between the donation boxes and the counting location. Three police officers have been additionally placed at pillar number 34, where the secret donation box is kept. Changes have been made in the banking sector: joint signatures of the temporary general secretary Dr. Krishna Mohan, chief engineer Jagdish Afle, and certified accountant Chandan Rai are now required for any banking transactions.
Counting Process and Guarding
Previously, financial operations were overseen by Dr. Anil Mishra, and the process was conducted using digital signatures. The remaining old counters, excluding those convicted, continue to perform the task of counting funds. According to the report, these employees were initially hired for housekeeping duties but were assigned sensitive tasks such as counting donations. Under the new system, mandatory uniforms without pockets have been introduced for the counters, and the entire counting process is now video recorded.
The newly appointed police chief, Vijay Shankar Mishra, has assumed full responsibility for ensuring security in Ayodhya.
