The Latin America Memorial will host the first edition of the Modern Italy Festival on July 11th and 12th. The event will have free entry and will bring together elements of gastronomy, music, and cultural attractions inspired by Italy.
The initiative aims to present a vision of Italy that transcends traditional celebrations linked to immigration, often associated with the city of São Paulo. The festival will offer various experiences, including show classes taught by chefs from FIC Brasile (Italian Federation of Chefs), the traditional grape stomp, and a fair dedicated to gluten-free products.
During the two days, participants will have the opportunity to taste typical dishes such as pasta, pizza, focaccia, and panini, in addition to characteristic desserts and classic Italian cocktails, such as Aperol Spritz and Martini. The show classes will be free and will demonstrate techniques for preparing Italian cuisine in sessions open to the public.
The grape stomp will invite visitors to actively participate in the artisanal wine production process by trampling the bunches in large containers. Additionally, the Gluten-Free Fair will bring together suppliers specialized in foods suitable for people with dietary restrictions, offering everything from bread and sweets to gluten-free versions of Italian dishes, as well as vegan options.
Among the confirmed restaurant establishments are Borgo Mooca, Chef Roberto Ravioli, Figo Br, Prego Unico, Caspita, Di Zucca, Moscatel, Amalfi Gelatos, and the pizzerias Castelões, 1900, and La Crosta Forneria. The festival will also include musical performances, dance groups, and exhibitors of typical Italian articles.
The activities will take place over the weekend at the Latin America Memorial, located in Barra Funda, with easy access via the Palmeiras–Barra Funda station. The detailed program includes events such as Perna de Pau, Banda Cosa Nostra, Tarantela, and Grape Stomp, distributed between Saturday (7/11) and Sunday (7/12).
The event will take place at the Latin America Memorial, located at Avenida Mário de Andrade, 664, Barra Funda, on July 11th and 12th, with operating hours from 11 am to 9 pm, and admission is free.
