Euribor rates showed an increase on the day in question for three, six, and twelve-month maturities, compared to the previous Thursday.
Euribor Rate Variations
The three-month Euribor rate rose to 2.412%, remaining below the corresponding rates for six months (2.626%) and twelve months (2.831%).
Specifically, the six-month Euribor registered an increase of 0.021 basis points, reaching 2.626%. This maturity is the most used in Portugal for variable-rate housing loans since January 2024. Data from the Bank of Portugal (BdP) for May reveals that the six-month Euribor constituted 39.17% of the volume of permanent primary housing loans with a variable rate.
The same BdP data indicates that the twelve-month and three-month rates represented 31.73% and 24.79% of the said stock, respectively.
