The airline Flydubai has announced the resumption and expansion of its operations network in Syria by launching a new daily direct flight to Aleppo International Airport (ALP).
The new service is scheduled to commence on July 20, 2026. Aleppo will become the airline's second destination in Syria, following the capital, Damascus. This decision underscores the carrier's commitment to opening markets that were previously underserved.
Ghaith Al Ghait, CEO of Flydubai, expressed satisfaction with the resumption of operations in Aleppo after nearly 14 years of suspension. He noted that launching a daily flight is a significant step in the network expansion strategy.
According to him, the company's primary objective has always been to support Dubai's aviation hub by establishing direct air links to previously inaccessible markets. By providing reliable daily connectivity to Aleppo, Flydubai contributes to strengthening economic, cultural, and familial ties between the UAE and Syria, responding to existing demand for direct flights.
Hamad Obaidallah, Chief Commercial Officer of Flydubai, added that since resuming flights to Damascus last summer, the company has observed high demand on this route. The resumption of direct service to Aleppo continues this positive trend, offering passengers more options and more convenient ways to travel between Dubai and Syria.
He also noted that the launch of the new daily flight occurs at an opportune time to support the increased tourist flow during the summer period, and the company expects to welcome passengers soon.
