The official opening of the Trade House of Uzbekistan took place in the capital of Belarus, Minsk. This facility is intended to serve as a showcase for national products and to promote stronger business relations between businessmen from both countries.
Opening Ceremony and Location
The solemn ceremony was held on July 8 during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Belarus. The organizers of the opening were the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Belarus. The new trade object is located at 63V Pobedyiteli Avenue and covers an area of over 260 square meters.
Products Displayed and Terms
The Trade House will permanently display products manufactured in Uzbekistan, including textiles, electrical equipment, and household appliances. The products are offered to buyers in Belarus at wholesale prices.
Participants and Goals of Cooperation
The event was attended by Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojaev, Belarus's Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Shuleiko, the Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov, and his Belarusian representative Mikhail Myatlikov. According to Vakhabov, the volume of trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Belarus is already close to one billion dollars. The leaders of the two states set the goal of increasing this figure to two billion dollars.
Prospects for Business Development
It is expected that the new center will serve to expand the market presence of Uzbek products in Belarus, as well as create new opportunities for entrepreneurs and facilitate direct contact between companies. Furthermore, the venue will contribute to the launch of joint production and investment projects. Previously, Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Alexander Lukashenko held an informal meeting in Minsk.
