Modern intelligent systems are being introduced at key border crossing points located between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. This modernization aims to simplify procedures for citizens and businesses, as well as accelerate the border crossing process.
Border Post Modernization
The 'Gishtkuprik' and 'Zhibek Zholy' posts are being modernized as part of these works. Delegations, including the First Deputy Chairman of the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, Gairat Nasirov, and the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Kazakhstan, Zhandos Duisimbiev, inspected the current condition of these facilities.
'Gishtkuprik' Intelligent Complex
The 'Gishtkuprik' post has already been transformed into an intelligent customs complex. Automated control systems, modern scanners, and digital technologies and risk management mechanisms have been installed here. This ensures faster and more transparent control of people, cargo, and transport, significantly reducing processing time.
Planned Changes and Cooperation
Similar improvements are planned for the 'Zhibek Zholy' post, which will be modernized using advanced digital solutions and engineering developments. The goal of these measures is to stimulate trade growth, optimize the transit process, and simplify border crossing. Furthermore, the parties discussed the need to deepen cooperation between customs services, develop electronic information exchange, and implement common digital tools.
Context of Border Regulation
It should be noted that previously, Kazakhstan introduced restrictions regarding the frequency of border crossings for passenger and freight transport arriving from neighboring countries.
