Ketan Agarwal's father, a local real estate agent from Pune, sent an emotional letter to President Droupadi Murmu. He urged the head of state to ensure the prompt conduct of the investigation and swift delivery of justice, stating that his family was 'shattered' after losing both his son and his own father within two decades.
Appeal for Justice
Vishal Agarwal, who sent an email to the President's secretary, requested that the case be heard in expedited court. He emphasized that the family does not demand special treatment, but merely the timely restoration of justice. He also strongly recommended that the accused receive the strictest punishment under the law, warning that delaying the process only exacerbates the suffering of grieving families.
In his letter, Vishal Agarwal wrote: 'I am writing this letter with a heart full of pain and hope. I am not writing as a businessman or a person of influence. I am simply a father seeking justice for my son.'
Family Tragedy
Describing the devastating impact of this tragedy, Vishal Agarwal reported that his own father passed away just 20 days after Ketan's murder because he could not cope with the grief of losing his grandson. He noted: 'Just 20 days after losing Ketan, I lost my own father. He loved his grandson more than anything in the world. He could not bear the shock and grief of Ketan's death. In just 20 days, I lost both my son and my father. Our family was shattered.'
Addressing President Murmu directly, he added: 'We are not asking for any special consideration. We only want this case to be heard in expedited court so that justice can be served as soon as possible. The delay of justice only intensifies the pain of families like ours.'
He concluded his message with an emotional plea: 'Please do not let my son's case become just another file. Behind this case is a family that has lost everything.'
Case Details
Ketan Agarwal, who was 25 years old at the time of the incident, was allegedly murdered in Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18. Police have charged his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhari with pushing him off a cliff. Agarwal and Goyal were planning to marry in November.
Meanwhile, the Pune court ruled on Friday to place Goyal, 20, and Chaudhari, 22, under 14-day judicial custody until July 16, rejecting the police request to extend the detention arrest.
