Indian Railways continues to modernize its stations while simultaneously launching special trains to improve passenger comfort. As part of this initiative, modern sleeping capsules (Sleeping Pods) have been installed at the railway station.
New amenities for travelers
Indian Railways has equipped modern sleeping capsules at Vijayawada station in Andhra Pradesh. These capsules will provide passengers with decent conditions for staying at the station, allowing them to rest during long journeys or while waiting for a train.
According to railway services, these capsules are primarily intended for passengers arriving early in the morning or departing late in the evening.
Sleeping capsule features
Each capsule is equipped with a range of modern amenities. Among them is Central Air Conditioning (Central AC), which ensures coolness and comfort. High-speed internet via Wi-Fi is also available, allowing passengers to work or entertain themselves.
Durable lockers are provided for luggage security, and charging stations for mobile phones and laptops are also available. Furthermore, the capsules feature a comfortable sleeping area with clean bedding, pillows, and sheets.
Despite their compact size, the sleeping capsules are designed to ensure full attention to lighting, ventilation, and privacy.
