Administrative changes have been observed in Ram Mandir in recent weeks, triggered by an audit regarding alleged irregularities in the collection of donations. This process has initiated a period of transformation within the trust council. A question arises as to who will now bear the primary responsibilities at the temple, and why the role of Mahant Dindenndra Das has suddenly increased.
Change in Pass Issuance System
According to sources, Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust has expanded the administrative powers of Mahant Dindenndra Das. He has been issued a new digital identification card that allows him to issue passes for pilgrims. Meanwhile, the accounts previously used by General Secretary of the trust, Champat Rai, and trustee Anil Mishra for issuing passes have been suspended. The trust has not yet released an official detailed statement about these changes.
Reasons for Procedure Review
The investigation revealed that Tinnu Yadav, suspected in the donation case, abused the pass system by issuing them to a large number of people. The audit now covers not only stolen funds but also issues concerning possible administrative or security lapses in the pass issuance process. This is why the trust began with changes to the system regulating pilgrim entry and VIP passes.
New Responsibilities of Mahant Dindenndra Das
Although Mahant Dindenndra Das is already a trustee of the trust, he has been assigned a new administrative function. Receiving a new digital card means that the process of issuing passes to pilgrims is now under his purview. This technical change reflects a shift in the distribution of duties within the trust, making the role of Mahant Dindenndra Das more significant in areas previously overseen by other officials.
Planned Decisions at the Trust Meeting
Sources report that the meeting of Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, scheduled for July 22, may form the basis for several important decisions. It is anticipated that this meeting will discuss the appointment of a new general secretary, finalize appointments for vacant positions, and present a plan to change the visitation system. A decision may also be made to implement new measures to enhance the transparency of donation management. Proposals for modernizing security, crowd management, and the visitation system are planned to be approved to make the temple's management more accountable, transparent, and convenient for pilgrims.
Progress of the Fund Embezzlement Investigation
The investigation into the embezzlement of donations continues in parallel. According to the police, part of the stolen funds was invested in the stock market, while another sum was used to earn interest. Investigators claim that the accused used the bank accounts of their relatives and close associates to conceal transactions: money was first transferred to other accounts and then returned to their own. Currently, about 30 bank accounts linked to three accused individuals have been frozen. Preliminary checks showed that operations on these accounts exceeded the known income of the owners.
Results of Searches on Suspects
The police conducted a search at the home of the accused Anukalpa Mishra and interviewed members of his family. Raids were also previously carried out at the homes of accomplices Levkush Mishra and Karunesh Pandey. According to sources, cash, gold jewelry, and a vehicle were found during the searches. However, it has not been officially disclosed what specific amount of cash or assets were found with each accused. Furthermore, documents for a plot of land purchased in the name of Anukalpa Mishra, covering an area of about one hectare, were discovered. According to the documents, the land was acquired for 6.7 lakh rupees, whereas its current value is significantly higher.
Future Priorities of the Trust
Following the donation incident, the trust aims not to limit itself only to measures against the guilty parties. The main focus is now on strengthening the entire system. It is predicted that the visitation system will become more convenient in the future, and donation management will gain digital reporting and greater accountability. The pass issuance process will be under stricter control. Additionally, religious practices and the rag-bhoga system will be organized according to Ramanandi traditions, and the use of technology in security and crowd management will be increased.
Thus, the changes in Ram Mandir may affect not only individuals but the entire internal system. All attention is currently focused on the trust meeting on July 22, after which it will become clear how the temple's administrative structure will change, who will take on new responsibilities, and what new rules pilgrims will have to follow, from visiting to donating.
