International Industrial AI Program Gathers Belt and Road Initiative Partners in Shanghai

China intends to use the World Artificial Intelligence Conference and the High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with all parties towards creating a global AI governance system based on broad consensus, stated Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on Friday.

Calls for Enhanced AI Regulation

These statements were made by Han Zheng during the opening of the XIV World Forum of Peace in Beijing, where he called for strengthening governance mechanisms in developing areas such as artificial intelligence.

He noted that China has put forward the Initiative for Global AI Governance, which advocates for a human-centric approach and the development of AI for the benefit of humanity.

Global Challenges and Initiatives

Han Zheng emphasized that the world is undergoing an accelerated transformation, unprecedented in a century, accompanied by growing instability, turbulence, frequent geopolitical conflicts, as well as more evident risks and governance gaps.

He also mentioned that Chinese President Xi Jinping presented the Global Governance Initiative to promote the building of a fairer and more equitable global governance system, which will bring necessary stability and positive energy to the world.

China's International Stance

Furthermore, Han added that China has always taken concrete steps to maintain the central role of the United Nations in international affairs, faithfully fulfilling its duties and missions as a permanent member of the Security Council. He expressed readiness to work with all countries to preserve the post-war world order and uphold international justice and equality.

As the host of the 33rd APEC Leaders' Summit, China will cooperate with all partners in building the Asia-Pacific community. He also stated his intention to continue expanding high-standard open access and work with all states to promote universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization.

Event in China's Capital

The event in China's capital was attended by about 400 people, including former foreign political figures, diplomatic envoys to China, and scientists from China and abroad.

The Chinese embassy stated its readiness to strengthen partnerships with Denmark in developing fields such as artificial intelligence, innovation, and the green economy. Furthermore, the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced on Friday plans to deepen international exchanges to improve friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries.

Meeting in Copenhagen

Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, made these statements during a meeting with Danish King Frederik X in Copenhagen.

Historical Ties

Wang noted that the Danish royal family has maintained friendly contacts with China for many years. He mentioned that Queen Margrethe II visited China twice during her reign. It was also noted that she was the first head of state to visit the Memorial Hall of the Victims in the Nanjing Massacre by Japanese invaders, demonstrating respect for history and a firm commitment to justice.

Danish Side's Position

King Frederik X emphasized that Denmark and China have a long history of exchanges, and that the peoples of both countries share a long-standing friendship. He also noted that bilateral relations maintain a stable pace due to active economic and trade cooperation, as well as close communication between the peoples.

Future Cooperation

King Frederik X expressed his willingness, along with the Danish royal family, to actively participate in promoting traditional friendship between the two states and contributing to the further development of bilateral ties. During his visit, Wang Yi also held talks with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen.
