Expansion and New Opportunities
These funds will be allocated to creating new jobs in sales, marketing, customer support, and customer success. This expansion comes amid a growing need for solutions in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence management, helping clients cope with increasingly complex cyber threats.
A new Rubrik Security Cloud has recently been launched on the European sovereign AWS cloud, enabling regulated firms to securely handle sensitive data.
Choosing London as a Strategic Hub
The UK is one of Rubrik's largest and fastest-growing markets. The company noted that although London is outside the EU, it provides access to high-caliber tech talent, a strong base of corporate clients, and an established financial services ecosystem.
CEO Bipul Sinha stated that this financial investment supports the development of the UK's tech community and assists clients in countering rising cyber risks while safely implementing AI. He emphasized that many firms require enhanced cyber resilience alongside reliable data governance. The European sovereign cloud option allows compliance with strict residency rules required by many regulated sectors, including the EU public and governmental sectors.
Customer Base Growth and Investments
Founded in 2014 by Bipul Sinha, Soham Mazumdar, and Arvind Nithrakashyap, Rubrik has transformed from a backup and recovery provider into a comprehensive cyber resilience platform with AI capabilities. Following its listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 2024, the company attracted significant capital to accelerate global growth. Rubrik currently serves approximately 2,000 customers in the EMEA region, nearly half of whom utilize three or more of the company's products.
Recent clients in the UK include Harbour Energy, Manchester City Council, Scottish Government, and Fortegra Financial Corporation. The company also reported record first-quarter results in the UK, driven by high demand from both corporate and public sectors. The company's new London office is designed to support long-term growth and features collaborative workspaces, an executive meeting center, employee wellness areas, and dedicated client interaction spaces.
Competition and Cyber Resilience Leadership
These moves occur amidst intense competition in the cyber resilience space, as organizations place greater emphasis on data protection, rapid incident response, and control over AI agents deployed in regulated environments. Rubrik now offers Rubrik Agent Cloud, which focuses on protecting AI agents, auditing automated actions, and executing remediation measures, such as revoking malicious agent actions.
UK Minister for AI and Online Safety Kanishka Narayan called these investments a clear affirmation of the UK's technological leadership, noting that the trend is broader and concerns the protection of data-centric initiatives, not just traditional cybersecurity.
