Uzbekistan and Turkey plan to expand cooperation in the social sphere

The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bahromjon Aloev, held talks in Muscat on July 1, 2026, with Salim Ali Sayabi, Chairman of the Omani company Alsiyabi International Group LLC.

The parties discussed specific proposals to strengthen cooperation in the fields of construction, tourism, infrastructure, and the establishment of medical facilities.

During the meeting, the issue of the Omani company's participation in the implementation of major urban development projects in Uzbekistan was also considered. The introduction of modern engineering and construction solutions, the development of tourist infrastructure, and the formation of partnerships in real estate development were discussed.

The Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement of Uzbekistan and the international organization The Asia Foundation (TAF) held a meeting to discuss prospects for joint work. The goal of the discussions was to improve the public procurement system, strengthen institutional potential, and develop interaction between science, education, and industry.

The implementation of advanced international experience in corruption prevention and the application of modern management methods were discussed.

Participants also discussed organizing training programs, advanced professional development courses, trainings, and seminars. Mechanisms for exchanging experience with the involvement of international experts to strengthen the institutional potential of state bodies and specialists in the field of public procurement were considered.

Joint Initiatives

A separate issue concerned the possibilities of implementing joint initiatives within the framework of U.S. Department of State programs. These programs aim to develop partnerships between universities, research institutes, and industrial enterprises, as well as to implement the results of applied scientific research in production, support technology transfer, and form an innovation ecosystem.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop practical cooperation in the specified areas, implement joint projects to strengthen institutional potential, and continue constructive dialogue.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of the Pakistani company Agha Jee Herbal World in Tashkent. The main topic of discussion was the possibilities for bilateral cooperation in the field of crop cultivation and the development of traditional medicine.

Pharmaceutical Production Planning

During the negotiations, the parties detailed the prospects of launching the production of herbal medicines on the territory of Uzbekistan. The foreign partner expressed interest in establishing a specialized training center, a medical clinic, and production facilities in Tashkent to release herbal preparations under its own brand.

Investment Proposals

A separate block of the negotiations was dedicated to investment proposals from the Pakistani side aimed at introducing new agricultural sectors in the republic. Investors proposed organizing the cultivation of saffron and high-quality Basmati rice varieties in various regions of Uzbekistan.

Next Steps in Cooperation

The participants exchanged views on selecting the most suitable locations for implementing these projects, studied the agrotechnical requirements for growing the specified crops, and outlined potential export channels for future products. At the end of the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue the joint detailed development of all presented initiatives and investment projects.
