Following the President of Uzbekistan's visit to Belarus on July 9, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Alexander Lukashenko signed a Declaration on the creation of a strategic partnership. A roadmap defining the directions of trade and economic cooperation for the period from 2026 to 2030 was also approved.
Production and Machine Building
During the meetings, great attention was paid to joint production in mechanical engineering. Alexander Lukashenko announced that about 1300 tractors from the Minsk Tractor Works were assembled in Uzbekistan during the year, and the localization level of some models will soon exceed 30%. It is planned to increase output to 3000 units annually, as well as expand service capabilities and create a branded training class. The Belarusian side expressed readiness to accept Uzbek specialists to master assembly line processes.
Agriculture and Export
A new agreement was reached in the agricultural sector. Uzbek investors will be granted the right to land plots in the Vitebsk region to launch the production of meat, milk, and poultry, with subsequent shipment of finished products to Uzbekistan. In addition, Belarus agreed to supply frozen beef, sugar, oil, canned meat, and condensed milk to the state reserve of Uzbekistan.
Economic Goals and Cooperation
As of 2025, bilateral trade turnover reached almost 1 billion dollars, which is a record figure. The governments of the countries set a goal to double this figure by 2030. A five-year roadmap has been developed to achieve these goals, detailing timelines, responsible parties, and scope of work.
Other areas of interaction include Belarus's readiness to share experience in atomic energy in connection with the construction of a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan, as well as support for opening Uzbek trade missions in the regions of Belarus. In the humanitarian sphere, it was announced the invitation of Uzbek citizens to work in Belarus and confirmed the intention to continue financing educational grants for young people of Uzbekistan in Belarusian universities.
