Fashion once again took center stage at the Hollywoodbets Durban July event, where the most stylish racegoers transformed the Greyville racetrack into a celebration of creativity, culture, and high fashion.
Competition and Theme
This time, the event's theme was 'Country Allure'. On Saturday, during the fashion of the day awards ceremony organized by Durban Fashion Fair, 150 contestants participated, vying for top prizes in four prestigious categories.
Performances and Style
The Pulse stage became a runway for bold fashion statements. Participants drew inspiration from South Africa's vast landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and timeless elegance. The competition showcased local fashion talent through impeccably tailored suits, flowing silhouettes, intricate handmade pieces, and vibrant hats.
Main Winners
Among the main winners was Gistine Kifubula, who won the 'Classic Racewear Female' title with a striking Country Allure look designed by Nqobisa Ndabeni. After receiving the award, Kifubula expressed gratitude and admiration for the victory.
In the 'Most Striking Couple' category, Larnelle Maddocks and Pamela Shabane successfully defended their title, receiving the award for the second consecutive year for their coordinated bronze and ivory outfits designed by Brenda Warring.
Richard Tulinatbitu was recognized as the winner in the 'Classic Racewear Male' category after impressing the judges with his ensemble of earthy tones, combining modern tailoring with traditional African craftsmanship.

The 'Exceptional Raceday Hat' award went to Zama Nkosi, who presented an elegant headpiece designed by Zandile Masondo. Each category winner received a prize of R5,000 from Race Coast and Schweppes, as well as prizes from Kryolan professional make-up and vouchers from Mangwanani Spa.
