The Trade House of Uzbekistan has commenced operations in Minsk, and its opening was timed to coincide with the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Belarus. This was reported by the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The new facility is located at Pobedy Street, 63V, and covers an area of 261.3 square meters. It will continuously showcase electrical goods, textiles, household items, agricultural products, and other export goods produced in Uzbekistan, which will be supplied to the Belarusian market wholesale.
The opening ceremony was attended by Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan; Yuri Shuleiko, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus; Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan; and Mikhail Myatlikov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Belarus.
According to Davron Vakhabov, the volume of mutual trade between the two countries has already approached one billion US dollars. Furthermore, the leaders of Uzbekistan and Belarus set a goal to increase this amount to two billion US dollars. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted that this location will expand the presence of Uzbek products in the Belarusian market, create new opportunities for local producers, and promote the development of direct ties between entrepreneurs, as well as the implementation of joint investment and production projects.
The government of Belarus emphasized that the trade house is intended to serve as a showcase for Uzbekistan's export potential, as well as to facilitate business contacts and the launch of joint enterprises. The opening of the trade house marks the next stage of interaction between the chambers of commerce of both nations. Previously, during the visit of the delegation of the Government of Belarus to Uzbekistan in February, the parties held a business forum that concluded with the signing of contracts and agreements worth almost 110 million US dollars. At the same time, the Tashkent restaurant of Uzbek cuisine opened in Minsk.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the USA and Brazil announced the opening of the Trade House of Uzbekistan's representation in the capital of Brazil, Brasília. This new office is intended to promote the development of trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
During the official event, negotiations were held with representatives of the Brazilian business community. The parties discussed supplies of Uzbek mineral fertilizers, product certification issues, holding industry meetings, and organizing future business missions.
During the visit to Brazil, the ambassador also held meetings with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), as well as the export and investment promotion agency ApexBrasil.
In these discussions, the parties considered opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, industrial production, supply of mineral fertilizers, geology, education, and sports. Following the meetings, a number of agreements were reached aimed at further developing trade, economic, and investment interaction between Uzbekistan and Brazil.
