Start of Work in Soyibobod

Early in the morning, a public cleanup for improvement began in the Soyibobod mahalla of Guliston District, involving residents, youth, state institutions, as well as teams from enterprises and organizations. Streets, paths, and drainage ditches were cleaned. Agronomic work was carried out on trees, and their trunks were cleared. Additionally, gravel was laid on some internal roads, which improved travel conditions for residents.

Participation of District Leadership

The head of Guliston District also took part in the improvement works, familiarized himself with the actions carried out jointly with mahalla activists and youth, and gave relevant instructions to responsible persons.

Goals of the 'Improvement and Generosity' Month

Within the framework of the 'Improvement and Generosity' month, it is planned to intensify improvement and landscaping work in all 24 mahallas of the district. Events will also be held to ensure sanitation and cleanliness, organize internal streets, improve the territories of social facilities, and collect information about families in need.

Significance of the Initiative

Shuhrat Khushmurodov, head of the Guliston District branch of the Mahalla Society of Uzbekistan, emphasized that important tasks regarding the improvement of mahallas, the creation of decent living conditions for the population, and uniting people around good deeds were set at the video-selection meeting under the President's leadership. He noted that the 'Improvement and Generosity' month has been launched in every mahalla of the district to implement these instructions. Mahalla activists, youth, state institutions, and work collectives are actively participating in this process.

According to him, improvement is not just cleaning a street or yard, but strengthening the sense of belonging to the fate of one's mahalla, as well as forming an atmosphere of mutual help and goodwill in every person. Therefore, during the month, in addition to improvement work, systematic events demonstrating generosity will be organized.

Sources of Well-being in Mahallas

It is emphasized that well-being in a mahalla begins with the activity of every household, every street, and above all, with the feeling of participation and solidarity among citizens. Thus, the 'Improvement and Generosity' month is designed not only to tidy up the territories but also to create a foundation for increasing positive values such as mutual respect, kindness, and solidarity among the population.

As part of the reforms being carried out in New Uzbekistan, one of the priority areas has been attention to the individual, care for their dignity and health. Thanks to comprehensive support and the provision of targeted social services to people with disabilities, lonely elderly citizens, and those in need of assistance, their quality of life is improving.

Example from Kogon

A vivid example of such positive changes is demonstrated by the story of one family in the Kogon district of Bukhara region. In the village of Kogon mahalla, where more than three thousand people live, there are 70 people with disabilities, 4 people with disabilities requiring constant care, and two lonely elderly people.

The mahalla's social worker, Nodirbek Khamidov, individually studied the needs of each of these citizens and provided them with targeted social assistance and services.

The Story of Turaqul Bobo

One such person is Turaqul Bobo Botirov. This elderly man, who suffered a stroke several years ago, was unable to get out of bed for a long time. This difficult ordeal changed not only his life but also that of his wife, Sharofat opa Narziyeva, who cared for Turaqul Bobo with love and patience for years.

After a comprehensive study of the family's social situation, the mahalla's social worker included Turaqul Bobo in the list of lonely elderly citizens and provided him with social and domestic services at home under the 'Active Life' program.

Medical and Financial Support

Under this program, Turaqul Bobo regularly underwent in-depth medical examinations, and his hospitalization in sanatorium and health resorts for health recovery was organized. Rehabilitation procedures conducted under the supervision of specialists played an important role in restoring his health.

Material support for the family was also not overlooked. A one-time financial aid was provided on the occasion of the autumn-winter season and the Ramadan holiday, which helped ensure the family's daily needs and improve their living conditions.

Results of the Aid

The most joyful result was that the provided medical and social services proved to be more effective than expected. Turaqul Bobo, who was previously completely confined to bed, has now started walking independently, strictly following the doctors' recommendations. Every step he takes is a testament to the success of the efforts of his loved ones and the people who helped him.

This case confirms the truth: if a person is given care, attention, and targeted help, even the most difficult trials can be overcome. The recovery of one person's health brings a smile to the whole family and revives hope in its heart.

Participants and mentors who attended the Olympiad shared their impressions of the conditions created in Uzbekistan and the Olympiad itself. Carlos Mauricio Castro Acuna, a mentor from Mexico, noted that such Olympiads gather the most talented and educated young people, and hosting this event in Uzbekistan demonstrates the state's high regard for providing quality education to its youth.

Maruf Addin from Bangladesh emphasized his awareness that Uzbekistan is a land of great scientists. He highly praised the traditional opening ceremony of the Olympiad, noting its high standard and solemn atmosphere. Addin added that chemistry plays a key role not only in studying the properties of substances but also in developing fields such as pharmaceuticals, ecology, environmental protection, medicine, and industry. He also mentioned that his team prepared thoroughly for participation in the Olympiad.

Preparation Experience and Prospects

Alexander Zuraev, a mentor from the Republic of Belarus, stated that they have been preparing their students for this Olympiad for a year. He mentioned that the Belarusian team successfully participated in the Al-Biruni International Science Olympiad held in Uzbekistan in 2025. Zuraev believes that Uzbekistan's significant focus on educational development is crucial for ensuring a bright future for the country.

Esun Kim from Ghana expressed a sense of uniqueness upon stepping onto this land, noting that Uzbekistan is a country with a rich historical, educational, and cultural heritage, situated at the crossroads of the ancient Silk Road. He concluded that scientific Olympiads are an invaluable platform for testing the intellectual potential of talented youth, developing logical thinking, and motivating them to achieve high results.

Olympiads not only identify the strongest participants but also serve as a solid foundation for shaping future scientists and highly qualified specialists. João Marcelo Alves Aires from Brazil commented on the beauty and solemnity of the opening ceremony of the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad, which began in Tashkent. He was also aware of the high level of organization of the Al-Biruni International Olympiad, which had taken place there previously. Alves Aires stressed that scientific Olympiads encourage individuals toward continuous work, research, and knowledge acquisition, and they also serve as a venue for exchanging experiences and meeting peers.
