Currently, supporting local production in the country, expanding the output of import-substituting products, and developing industrial cooperation are among the key directions of state economic policy. Full utilization of domestic production potential in strategic sectors such as transport, as well as establishing links between local enterprises and major state customers to form new production chains, is particularly important.
'National Production Chain' Event
To achieve these goals, 'National Production Chain' exhibitions have been organized, which have become an effective platform for strengthening practical cooperation between the public and private sectors. In particular, on July 15–16 at the 'National Production Chain' exhibition dedicated to the transport sector, held at the 'Sof Expo' exhibition center in the Jomboy district of Samarkand region, significant results were achieved.
Participants and Goals of the Exhibition
This event was organized with the participation of the Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement, the Ministry of Transport, the Khokimiyat of Samarkand Region, major state customers in the transport sector, and industry enterprises. The main goal of the exhibition was to develop local production in the transport sector, expand industrial cooperation, support the production of import-substituting goods, and establish direct contacts between local producers and major state customers.
Products and Participants Presented
More than 2000 products from over 80 local manufacturers and five large transport sector enterprises were presented at this major industrial venue. The general public was introduced to modern goods, component parts, high-tech products, innovative solutions, scientific projects, and promising production initiatives in the areas of railways, civil aviation, highways, urban transport, and logistics. More than 1500 people participated in the two days of the event.
Information Base for Business
An important aspect of the exhibition was the presentation by major customers of information about their current and future needs, including procurement plans for 2026 and subsequent periods, technical product requirements, quality standards, and annual demand volume. This allowed local entrepreneurs to deeply study market demand, identify new production directions, and adapt their products to the needs of major customers. Goods that are currently imported, localized, or recommended for future production in the country were also demonstrated at the exhibition.
Cooperation and Agreements
Organizations such as JSC 'Uzbek Railways', JSC 'Uzbekistan Airways', JSC 'Uzbekistan Airports', JSC 'Tashkent Metro', and the Road Committee, along with other structures related to transport infrastructure and public procurement, took part in the event. Local companies had the opportunity to directly present their products, spare parts, components, and import-substituting technological solutions to major customers. 30 B2B meetings and 20 B2G meetings were organized. During these negotiations, issues of developing industrial cooperation, localizing new products, establishing long-term partnerships, concluding guaranteed procurement and offtake contracts, and implementing promising investment projects involving local producers, major state customers, commercial banks, scientific and educational institutions, and investors were discussed.
Results and Recognition
As a result of the negotiations, more than 90 cooperation agreements were signed. Projects aimed at developing transport and logistics infrastructure, expanding transit routes, effectively utilizing the country's transit potential, and increasing the participation of local producers in these processes were also presented. Furthermore, higher education institutions, scientific centers, and startup teams presented innovative developments, modern technologies, and scientific solutions for the transport sector. Special attention was paid to training engineering and technical specialists, developing dual education, strengthening the integration of science and production, and expanding cooperation with research centers. Interactive solutions were implemented for participants to quickly obtain information about companies and products, and access to data on network companies, local producers, and their products was created through a special exhibition catalog. One of the most important results was the practical effectiveness of the event.
Financial Results and Prospects
Upon completion of the event, more than 10 thousand contracts were signed under public procurement, totaling 714 billion sums. These agreements serve as an important economic basis for expanding the participation of local producers in the transport sector, increasing the share of local content, and implementing new production projects. The 'National Production Chain' exhibition turned out to be not just a demonstration of goods for the transport industry, but a large-scale industrial forum that brought together state customers, local producers, investors, scientific institutions, and financial institutions. In conclusion, this event was an important step towards demonstrating the production potential of local companies, establishing new cooperative ties, accelerating the production of import-substituting goods, and increasing the share of local producers in public procurement. Participants who distinguished themselves with their innovative approach, advanced technological solutions, and contribution to the development of industrial cooperation were recognized in nominations such as 'Best Innovative Stand', 'Most Promising Innovative Startup', 'Most Promising Transport Project', 'Best Import-Substituting Project', and 'Most Effective Production Chain Project'. The achieved results show that the 'National Production Chain' exhibition is not only a response to today's needs but also an effective platform for supporting the long-term strategy for the development of the transport sector. In the future, such exhibitions will undoubtedly play a key role in the development of local industry, the expansion of innovative production, and the increase in the share of local content in the country's economy.
