Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly emphasized that tourism development is a priority task for various state structures. He noted the critical importance of this sector as a major economic activity that provides jobs, brings in foreign currency, and yields diverse socio-economic benefits.
During the meeting held at the Cabinet of Ministers office in the New Capital on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, to monitor current efforts to develop the sector, Madbouly added that Egypt has introduced numerous incentives and conditions to maximize the potential of this promising industry.
He reported that the state is working to increase investment volumes and expand the hotel base, emphasizing the government's commitment to continuous dialogue with tourism investors to consider their proposals and complaints.
In the presence of the ministers of tourism and housing, as well as a large number of high-ranking officials from relevant state bodies, the Prime Minister discussed investor requirements. Special attention was paid to requests concerning attracting international airlines, connecting new airports to transport networks, and providing additional benefits for various tourist destinations.
During the meeting, the Minister of Tourism presented the latest indicators and rates of the sector, and also informed the Prime Minister about the measures being taken by the ministry to support and promote the national tourism industry. Meanwhile, the Minister of Housing revealed that the Tourism Development Authority, acting as a single window for investors, will begin cooperating with consultants to identify new tourist zones in the North Sinai and along the Red Sea coast to maximize their investment potential.
