A major gastronomic festival named 'QR Gastronomic Quality – 2026' is being held at the 'Karakalpak Ethno Ovuli' tourist complex in the city of Nukus, Karakalpakstan Republic. This festival is organized by the public association 'DMO Qoraqalpog‘iston' as part of the 'QR Gastronomic Quality' project, which is financed under a social order by the State Fund under the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The main goal of this project is to advance the public catering sector of Karakalpakstan to a new level of quality, transform gastronomy into one of the region's key tourism brands, and implement modern service standards.
The festival program includes presentations of restaurants, cafes, and gastronomic brands, an exhibition of national cuisine from various peoples, a culinary competition featuring dishes from Karakalpakstan, a gastronomic parade, a festive concert, contests and quizzes for attendees, cooking master classes, and interesting meetings.
The central event of the festival is the 'QR Gastronomic Quality – 2026' competition, which takes place among restaurants, cafes, and tea houses of Karakalpakstan. The best establishments demonstrate the quality of their service and compete for the title of the best participant in the region.
Holding this event contributes to improving the level of local gastronomic services and, consequently, increasing the attractiveness of Karakalpakstan as a tourist destination. The main objective is to transform the region into a gastronomic center in the future.
In the village of Qatrang, located in the Leylek district of the Botken region of Kyrgyzstan, an international friendship festival named 'Culture Calls for Friendship' is being held against the backdrop of picturesque nature along the Kozu-Baglan River.
This festival aims to strengthen mutual understanding, friendship, and cultural ties between peoples by bringing together representatives of Kyrgyz, Uzbek, and Chinese cultures on one stage.
The event was organized at the initiative of cultural figure Asanbay Mansurov and artist Samara Karimova, who worked in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Among the festival participants were Maksatay Karimberdiev, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic for the Botken region, Khurshidjon Akhmedov, Deputy Head of the Fergana region, as well as delegations from the People's Republic of China.
