The seminar is organized by the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan together with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). Sessions are conducted by professors and experts from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy in Germany.
Participants study modern methods of analyzing and forecasting foreign trade, including gravity modeling and computable general equilibrium models. Representatives from the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, as well as other state bodies responsible for economic development and foreign trade, gathered at the event.
Using statistical data from Uzbekistan, participants model various trade development scenarios and gain practical experience in applying advanced analytical tools.
After the completion of the seminar, the parties intend to continue joint work on preparing pilot studies, implementing international best practices, and developing scientifically sound approaches to trade policy. This seminar is part of a joint initiative by the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and GIZ aimed at strengthening institutional capacity in the field of foreign trade forecasting.
The Uzbekistan-Japan Business Forum took place in Tashkent, dedicated to strengthening investment, industrial, and technological interaction between the two countries. The event was organized by the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade.
Representatives from state structures, leading Japanese companies, banking and financial institutions, as well as business associations attended the forum. This event continued the agreements reached during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Japan in December 2025.
During the discussions, particular attention was paid to Uzbekistan's investment potential and the reforms being implemented in the country. These reforms are aimed at liberalizing the economy, protecting investor rights, and forming a modern industrial base. It was noted that there are currently 137 enterprises with Japanese capital operating in the republic, as well as representatives of 14 Japanese companies.
Forum participants reviewed opportunities for joint work in areas such as transport, energy, geology, healthcare, education, digitalization, and industrial cooperation. The business program concluded with B2B and G2B negotiations involving representatives of companies, banks, and relevant organizations from both countries.
An Uzbek-Pakistani business forum will take place in Tashkent, which will also include meetings for finding business partners (B2B matchmaking). The event is scheduled for July 8, 2026.
The forum will be held from 15:00 to 17:00 at the Hyatt Regency Tashkent hotel. The organizers of the event are the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce (Pakistan).
The forum is expected to host a delegation consisting of more than 70 representatives from well-known Pakistani companies and business associations. These organizations operate in various sectors, including pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, industrial production, retail trade and services, consumer goods distribution, agriculture and food industry, tourism, logistics, education, construction, and dried fruit trade.
The organizers invite representatives of Uzbek enterprises and local entrepreneurs interested in establishing commercial ties with Pakistani partners to participate in the forum and planned B2B negotiations.
The second International Uzbekistan-Korea Energy Forum, officially named the Energy Value Networks Forum, will take place in the capital of Uzbekistan in the second half of June and early July 2026.
This major bilateral business event will be held in Tashkent from June 30 to July 1, 2026. The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan officially supports the forum's organization. The direct initiators and organizers of the meeting are the South Korean energy corporation Korea Western Power and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The international forum is expected to become an authoritative and sought-after platform for strengthening interstate cooperation. The event will gather representatives of state bodies of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, top executives of leading energy companies from both countries, as well as renowned international experts, analysts, and major foreign investors.
The main goal of the meetings is to create favorable conditions for forming new long-term partnerships and developing strategic plans. Over two days, participants will focus on current trends and issues in the modern industry. Delegates will examine in detail the practical application of advanced, highly efficient energy technologies, the accelerated development of the renewable energy sector, and comprehensive measures to improve the overall energy efficiency of industrial facilities.
A separate block of discussions will be dedicated to mechanisms for expanding direct investment interaction and launching new joint projects in the energy sector in Uzbekistan.
