Decisive measures have begun in Bihar's government schools against teachers who secured positions using fake documents and worked for years. The Education Department has made a strict decision to terminate the service of 3035 government teachers.
Compensation Demand
The department's actions are not limited to job termination; the government also plans to recover salaries and allowances from these fraudulent teachers received up to the present, including interest.
Uncovering the Fraud
The revelation of this large-scale fraud was made possible by an investigation conducted by the Vigilance Bureau. After a thorough check, the Vigilance Bureau submitted a long list of liable teachers to the Education Department. Currently, 1830 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered.
Period and Methods of Deception
The investigation revealed that this entire fabrication is linked to the teacher recruitment process that took place between 2006 and 2015. The Vigilance Bureau's investigation uncovered shocking facts: many colleges and universities whose diplomas were used to get jobs turned out to be completely fake. In some cases, the educational institutions themselves were legitimate, but the certificates and mark sheets presented by the candidates were entirely false.
Reaction Among Teachers
The strictness from the Education Department and the Vigilance Bureau has started to affect the situation on the ground. As soon as the department prepared the list and began taking legal action and recovering salaries with interest from the fake teachers, fear set in among them. To avoid legal proceedings and imprisonment, many teachers voluntarily resigned before official actions commenced. Nevertheless, the department emphasized that no culprit will be spared.
