Thanks to these events, held at the Mavlono Lutfulloh Botanical Garden, it became even livelier with visitors arriving from afar to watch the 'Plov Championship'. More than twenty amateur chefs from local mahallas, organizations, and institutions demonstrated their skills, hanging cauldrons and preparing plov in a specially designated area.
One of the important parts of the event was the ceremony of presenting a certificate from the Ministry of Justice stating that 'Chust Plov' has been included in the state register as a geographical indication. The assignment of a geographical indication status guarantees the legal protection of the name and the traditional preparation technology of 'Chust Plov'. Furthermore, this status confirms the product's compliance with state food standards and expands the possibilities for promoting the region's gastronomic brand internationally.
During the competition, the prepared plovs were evaluated based on taste, presentation, and other characteristics, after which the chefs received appropriate rewards.
As previously reported, competitions under the slogan 'New Uzbekistan – Olympia Summits!' are currently being held across a range of sports disciplines.
Matches for boys' volleyball are taking place in the 'Olympia Town' of the capital as part of the 'President's Olympiad' program. Yesterday, qualifying matches were held, comprising four encounters.
The results of these matches recorded the following outcomes: Andijan region lost to Karakalpakstan Republic with a score of 1:2; Samarkand region lost to Fergana region with a score of 1:2; Tashkent city defeated Surkhandarya region with a score of 2:0; and Tashkent region won against Namangan region with a score of 2:0.
After the completion of the men's competitions, the women's matches will begin.
The regional stage of the 'Yashil Chiroq' competition, which tests students' knowledge of traffic rules, agility, and teamwork, took place in the Surkhandarya region in a tense and competitive atmosphere.
The competition was held at the 14th General Education Secondary School in the city of Termiz. Fifteen teams participated, having won at the district and city levels to compete against each other.
The teams demonstrated their knowledge and skills in the field of road safety, as well as their team cohesion and creative and practical potential, fulfilling each of the eight established criteria at a high level.
According to the final results, the team 'Yosh Targibotchi' from Sherobod district scored the most points and earned the right to advance to the republican stage of the competition. At the end of the event, the winning teams and active participants were awarded diplomas and commemorative gifts.
In several districts of the city and region of Tashkent, electricity supply has been fully restored. The outage occurred due to a malfunction at the Yuksak substation.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy, the power cut happened on June 28 at 20:45 in the capital as a result of an emergency situation at the Yuksak substation. Preliminary checks showed that a technical failure occurred in the 110 kV network of this substation. Consequently, two gas turbine units at 'Tashkent IEM' with a capacity of 60 MW were taken out of service.
As a result of the incident, electricity supply was interrupted for 55 thousand consumers in the Yakkasaray, Chilonzor, Mirobod, and Uchtepa settlements of Tashkent city, as well as in the Zangiyota settlement of Tashkent region, and for some small industrial enterprises.
Energy engineers carried out prompt work to eliminate the accident, after which consumers began connecting to the grid in stages. Specifically, on June 28 at 21:50, electricity supply was restored to consumers with a load of 90 MW in the Yakkasaray, Chilonzor, and Uchtepa settlements. Then, on June 29 at 00:08, electricity was provided to consumers with a load of 50 MW in the Mirobod settlement. One minute later, at 00:09, another 8 MW of load was connected to the grid in the Yakkasaray and Chilonzor settlements. Full restoration of electricity supply for consumers with a load of 55 MW in the Chilonzor settlement and the Zangiyota settlement of Tashkent region took place at 00:25.
