The Director General of Logistics and Support at the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) reported that issues arising on alternative transport routes are being resolved. He emphasized that the further development of these corridors depends both on cooperation between domestic agencies and on concluding agreements with neighboring countries.
Increased Use of Alternative Routes
In an interview with Mehr News Agency's Ali Emami, the Director General of the TPO's Logistics and Support Office, he answered the question about the timeline for increasing the use of six alternative routes to reduce the load on the Persian Gulf. He noted that part of the success depends on the competition created by the transport companies themselves.
Need for Competitiveness
Emami explained that road and rail transport companies need to meet the level of maritime carriers. He added that authorities should provide incentives and advantages to freight operators on railways and roads so that they can remain competitive.
