Significant changes have occurred in light of allegations of alleged irregularities in the collection of donations at Ram Mandir, resulting in Krishna Mohan, the new acting Secretary General of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Foundation, taking on this responsibility.
First Inspection and Meeting
Upon assuming his duties, Krishna Mohan first conducted a detailed inspection of the Ram Mandir premises in Ayodhya to assess the current state of affairs at the temple. Prior to this inspection, Krishna Mohan met with former Secretary General Champat Rai in a private office. The discussion between them lasted for a long time. Although the Foundation did not disclose the topics of their conversation, it is believed that they discussed in detail the administrative management of the temple, construction work, and recent events.
Champat Rai had been residing at the Tirtha Kshetra Foundation office in Ramkot in recent days.
Oversight of Construction and Safety
Following the meeting, Krishna Mohan inspected the ongoing construction, beautification, and other projects on the temple premises. He requested information from engineers and relevant officials regarding the progress of construction, the quality of work, and adherence to established deadlines. Instructions were given to complete all projects according to the set standards and within the timeframe.
Furthermore, Krishna Mohan checked the conditions for pilgrims, safety, and the entire functioning system of the temple. The Foundation stated that special attention would be paid to improving the visitor system and timely completion of construction work.
Changes in Foundation Leadership
Recently, following the emergence of allegations of alleged irregularities in the collection of donations at Ram Mandir, the Foundation accepted resignations from both former Secretary General Champat Rai and Foundation member Anil Mishra. Both left their positions on moral grounds and are currently not members of the Foundation.
Appointment and Next Steps
Krishna Mohan, a former officer of the Indian Forest Service (IFS) and associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has been appointed as the acting Secretary General of the Ram Mandir Foundation. Additionally, the Foundation has formed a three-member selection committee to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to strengthen administrative and financial management.
According to the Foundation's information, Krishna Mohan will serve as Secretary General on a temporary basis. The final decision on the permanent Secretary General will be made at a Foundation meeting to be held after the Vishva Hindu Parishad national conference. Meanwhile, the investigation into the Ram Mandir donations case continues by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
