Samsung is preparing to enter a growing niche in the wireless audio market by developing its first clip-on earbuds. According to leaked information, this new accessory, named Galaxy Buds On, will have a shape that attaches to the ear similar to an earring.
Product identification in the app
The name Galaxy Buds On was detected in an update to the Galaxy Wearable app, suggesting that product development has reached an advanced stage. Unlike traditional Galaxy Buds, this new model will be designed with an open-ear format, securing itself on the side of the ear instead of being inserted into the ear canal. This feature allows the user to maintain awareness of ambient sounds while using the device.
Advantages and competition of the new model
Clip-on earbuds have recently gained popularity due to the superior comfort they provide during prolonged use and the greater security they offer for outdoor activities, such as running and walking. In addition to functionality, the aesthetic appeal of these devices, which resemble earrings, also contributes to their acceptance. With this launch, the manufacturer will begin competing directly with existing models in the market, such as the Motorola Moto Buds Loop, as well as offerings from brands like Huawei, Sony, and Xiaomi.
Launch timeline and current status
Although the name has already been seen in Samsung applications, there are expectations that the Galaxy Buds On will not be unveiled during the Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 22. Leaks indicate that the accessory's launch has been postponed and can only occur in the coming months, possibly alongside the future Galaxy S26 FE. To date, Samsung has not provided technical details nor officially confirmed the existence of this new product.
