Bangladesh has put forward proposals for three potential venues—Mirpur, Sylhet, and Chattogram—for the Asia Cup 2027. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has requested detailed information regarding the capabilities and readiness of these three stadiums before making a final decision.
Tournament Details and Dates
According to Cricbuzz, the Asia Cup 2027 will be held in One Day International (ODI) format. The tournament is scheduled to begin on June 18, with the final match slated for July 4, although the ACC has not yet announced an official schedule.
Bangladesh's Proposals
Said Ibrahim Ahmed, chairman of the security committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), told the media that the board proposed three of its permanent international sports arenas: Mirpur, Chattogram, and Sylhet. He emphasized that nothing is final yet, but if the Asia Cup takes place in Bangladesh next year, fans will be able to enjoy excellent cricket.
Expectations and Decision Process
Ahmed specified that the ACC has contacted the BCB and requested detailed information about the proposed venues and their preparation. He expressed hope that a decision on this matter will be made in the coming days. A BCB representative noted that they are making every effort for the successful organization of the tournament and are very optimistic about the return of the Asia Cup to Bangladesh after 11 years.
