Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan held negotiations with the leadership of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health and the Vigour Locomotion Medical Center to discuss expanding cooperation in the healthcare sector. The goal of the meetings was to attract Uzbek specialists to private medical institutions in the Kingdom and implement joint investment projects.

Demand for Medical Personnel
According to the Saudi Arabian side, there is currently a need for approximately 4500 foreign doctors and nurses in the country's private hospitals and medical centers. As an initial step, it was proposed to hire 100 medical workers from Uzbekistan.
Employment Conditions
Under the proposed terms, the employer assumes full responsibility for processing the Iqama (residence and work permit), provides accommodation, pays for internal transportation, ensures medical insurance, and covers the annual return air ticket.
The salary level for young doctors will range from 4500 to 5600 Saudi riyals (approximately $1200–$1500 USD). Experienced specialists will receive between 5600 and 9300 riyals ($1500–$2500 USD), while nurses will earn from 3000 to 3750 riyals ($800–$1000 USD).
In-Demand Specialties and Advantages
The highest demand is observed for general practitioners, obstetricians-gynecologists, physiotherapists, dermatologists, pediatric psychologists, and maxillofacial surgeons. Representatives from Saudi Arabia noted the high level of professional training, discipline, and diligence of Uzbek medical workers, emphasizing that knowledge of English and adherence to professional ethics are significant advantages.
Investment Projects and Future Visits
During the negotiations, a project for building a modern multi-specialty medical center in the Riyadh province was also presented. The Saudi side invited Uzbek investors to participate in the implementation of this project. If launched, it is planned to attract specialists from Uzbekistan in various fields, including builders, engineers, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and drivers, which will subsequently create additional jobs for complex maintenance.
Furthermore, Wadhha bint Saad Al-Hajri, CEO of Vigour Locomotion Medical Center, announced her visit to Uzbekistan at the end of July 2026 as part of an official delegation led by the Saudi Arabian Minister of Health. During this trip, meetings are scheduled with representatives of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the Migration Service, and Zaamin Santoriam to further develop bilateral cooperation.
According to Dunyo news agency, the agreements reached aim to deepen practical interaction between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia in the field of healthcare, open up new employment opportunities for Uzbek medics, and strengthen bilateral investment ties.
