A round table was held in Tashkent dedicated to the development of the GameDev and animation ecosystem in Uzbekistan. Participants discussed industry prospects, personnel training issues, attracting investment, and expanding the presence of local companies in global markets.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Digital Technologies together with the Uzbekistan Creative Association (UZCA). Representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan and the educational courses 'Mirzo Ulugbek Vorislari' (Heirs of Mirzo Ulugbek) took part in the proceedings.
The discussion was attended by the Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, as well as representatives from game and animation studios, IT enterprises, educational institutions, and creative industry specialists involved in computer game development, animation, VFX, and design.
Participants reviewed the current state and future growth opportunities for the GameDev and animation sectors in the country. Special attention was paid to training qualified specialists, supporting specialized companies, assisting domestic developers in entering foreign markets, attracting capital investments, and strengthening interaction between the public and private sectors.
Speaking at the event, Sherzod Shermatov emphasized the importance of supporting talented youth and developing the GameDev and animation industries as one of the most promising directions of the national economy. He noted that efforts will continue to be made to implement international experience, increase export potential, and form a modern industrial ecosystem.
During the round table, industry figures shared their practical experience and presented recommendations for the further promotion of the sector. It was noted that the developed initiatives and proposals will serve as a basis for the systematic growth of GameDev, animation, VFX, and design in Uzbekistan, also contributing to broader international cooperation and the development of new strategic plans.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, met on July 6 with Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik, Director General of the Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture (ISESCO), who arrived in the country to participate in the opening ceremony of the First International Forum of Islamic Civilization.
During the negotiations, the parties reviewed practical issues concerning the further development of constructive dialogue and increasing cooperation between Uzbekistan and ISESCO in the fields of science, education, culture, and tourism.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the Action Plan, which establishes priority areas of interaction and provides for joint projects in the near future. The parties also expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation and confirmed their interest in further strengthening partnership relations in key areas of interaction.
