Isfahan authorities have approved a plan to restore and upgrade the historic city square located opposite the famous Abbasi Hotel, which is part of the city's rich architectural and cultural heritage.
Decision Making and Council Participation
This decision was made following a meeting of the Supreme Council for the Historical Appearance of Isfahan, which recently convened to discuss key initiatives aimed at preserving, restoring, and revitalizing the city's historical districts. According to Miras-e Aria, the meeting included the Mayor of Isfahan, the Chairman of the City Council, and the Director General of the Provincial Department of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts.
Heritage Preservation Plans
During the meeting, Amir Karamzadeh, the Director General of the Ministry's office in Isfahan, noted that participants reviewed the progress of current restoration projects across the city and approved plans to accelerate conservation measures. One of the most important decisions was the restoration and rehabilitation of the historic square, which is situated opposite the Abbasi Hotel and was previously a Safavid-era caravanserai.
