Delegates of the international electric vehicle expedition 'The Drive of Rease,' which began its journey across Uzbekistan on July 4th of this year, visited Khorezm.
This journey using electric and hybrid vehicles is important not only for rediscovering the heritage of the Great Silk Road but also for demonstrating the country's rich cultural and tourism potential to the world.
According to the mayor of Khiva, Temur Davletov, this stage of the project in Uzbekistan will help enhance the country's prestige on the global tourism map. He noted that materials created by experts, scientists, and media representatives from various countries participating in the expedition are expected to be widely disseminated, leading to increased interest in the country, entry into new tourism markets, and an increase in the flow of foreign guests.
As part of the visit, a tour was organized for the guests through Ichan Kala, where they were provided with detailed information about Khiva's rich historical and cultural heritage, architectural monuments, and tourism potential. During meetings, the parties exchanged views on investment opportunities in Khorezm, tourism development, and future joint projects. The delegation members highly praised Khiva's historical appearance and tourism infrastructure.
Hong Feng, co-founder of Xiaomi, reported that the international electric vehicle expedition, which will last about 43 days, will travel a route of 15 thousand kilometers, connecting Europe and Asia, starting in Rome and ending in Hong Kong. He emphasized that Uzbekistan is one of the most important and interesting stages of this route, and the choice of this country confirms its historical position in the civilization of the Great Silk Road and its emergence as a modern tourist center.
The expedition participants visited cities in Uzbekistan such as Nukus, Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand, and Tashkent, familiarizing themselves with the country's cultural heritage, architectural attractions, national traditions, and modern infrastructure. Unique places were also visited, including areas of the Aral Sea, Muynak, and the Kyzylkum Desert.
The main goal of this project is to demonstrate to the world that Uzbekistan possesses enormous potential not only in its rich cultural heritage but also in adventure, ecological, and automotive tourism. This, in turn, should contribute to increasing the number of foreign tourists and forming new tourism products, thereby contributing to the development of the country's tourism economy.
