Divya Bansel, a woman of Indian origin, shared her success story, which caused a wide resonance on social media. Despite many people celebrating getting the desired job, Divya emphasized that she views work as just one component of her life, not her entire being.
Education and Job Search in New York
Divya Bansel received a bachelor's degree from New York University (NYU). During her studies, she shared her experience on Instagram, talking about how difficult it has become for an international student to find a job under current conditions. As part of her search, she applied to approximately 420 vacancies.
She was called for interviews in three cases out of these applications, and ultimately received two job offers. Having secured a job just one week after graduation, Divya noted that in a competitive environment where success is often equated with human dignity and existence, her achievement is very significant.
Priorities: Career vs. Personality
In her video, she pointed out that after getting a job, some people completely immerse themselves in it, forgetting about their personal lives. However, Divya chose a different approach. She stated that this job will be a part of her life, providing her with the opportunity to develop, help pay bills, and present challenges, but it should not define her entire personality.
Work-Life Balance
According to Divya, work should exist around a person's life, not the other way around. She made it clear that she plans to continue dancing, going to the gym, cooking dishes reminiscent of home, and spending time with loved ones while working.
