As part of the 'FIDE World Youth Chess Championship 2026' in Montesilvano, Italy, 778 young chess players from 84 countries are participating, including boys and girls aged up to 14, 16, and 18.

After the eighth round, Sarvinoz Bekmuratova took second place among girls under 14, scoring 6.5 points out of 110 participants. Lazizabonu Komiljonova is also competing in this age category, holding 12th place with 5.5 points. Today, June 24, Sarvinoz Bekmuratova will play with white pieces against American Laura Qiu, vying for one of the prize spots in her age group. The tournament consists of 11 rounds, and the final games will take place on June 26.
