During the meeting in the New Capital with a delegation from Ernst & Young (EY) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Issa stated that the government is working to improve the business environment, stimulate both local and foreign investment, and expand the role of the private sector in the economy.
The meeting covered EY's intentions to expand its operations in Egypt by providing a broader range of consulting services in the areas of business, finance, technology, and digital solutions from the country. Furthermore, Issa was briefed on the government's economic reform program, which includes efforts to enhance the efficiency of economic bodies and state-owned enterprises, strengthen governance, and implement performance-based budgeting to increase the effectiveness of public spending.
For his part, Omar Edda, Head of Consulting at EY MENA, characterized Egypt as a strategic market for the company, noting the presence of a skilled workforce, developed digital infrastructure, and favorable geographical location.
