Although the Fiat Strada maintains its position as the best-selling vehicle, the increase in sales volume was significantly driven by electrified cars of Chinese origin, which gained prominence in retail and have the potential to change the scenario by the end of the year. Furthermore, there was growth in sales of traditional models manufactured by Fiat, Volkswagen, and Chevrolet.
During the first half, sales made in retail accounted for 54.8% of total sales. Including light commercial vehicles, the retail share dropped to 50.5%. Initially, BYD led retail due to aggressive promotions; however, by the end of the semester, Volkswagen took the lead in this channel, while Fiat occupied second place. There is an expectation that the situation of the Chinese manufacturer may improve in this segment by the end of the year.
In the general ranking of best-selling cars for the first half, the Volkswagen Polo reached second place, followed by the T-Cross. The top 5 was completed by the Fiat Argo and Chevrolet Onix. Regarding electric vehicles, the BYD Dolphin Mini ranked ninth, surpassing the Fiat Mobi. The best-selling purely hybrid model was the GWM Haval H6, which placed 24th, maintaining a good distance from the BYD Song Pro.
In the mid-size pickup category, the Toyota Hilux maintained its position as the best-seller. The Ford Ranger came in second, and the Chevrolet S10 showed an approach in sales volume in recent months. Among the new arrivals in the market in 2026, the Toyota Yaris Cross, Caoa Changan Uni-T, Chevrolet Sonic, GAC GS4, and Jetour T2 appeared in the top 100. Models launched in 2025, such as Geely EX2, Omoda 5, and Jaecoo 7, are also standing out in 2026.
