In Uzbekistan, great attention is being paid to adapting the higher education system to international standards, expanding cooperation with prestigious global universities, and training competitive medical personnel through the initiative of the President. As a result of these reforms, the Faculty of Turkish Medicine was established at the Bukhara State Medical Institute in cooperation with the University of Health Sciences of the Republic of Turkey. This faculty is considered one of the most promising international education projects for the country and the region.
History and Directions of Cooperation
The Faculty of Turkish Medicine operates based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed on November 22, 2018, and the cooperation agreement approved on October 16, 2019. Starting from the 2019–2020 academic year, educational programs in 'clinical practice,' 'higher nursing (anesthesiology),' 'emergency medical care,' and 'physiotherapy' were implemented. Furthermore, starting from the 2025–2026 academic year, the 'dentistry' program, one of the most in-demand fields of modern medicine, was also opened.

Graduates and the Future
The most important part of the ceremony was the official awarding of diplomas to nearly 200 graduates who successfully completed the faculty. This event was recorded as an unforgettable day for young doctors and a significant historical moment in their entry into professional activity. Most importantly, the doctors being trained in Bukhara today are entering the workforce as personnel who have acquired knowledge according to international standards, mastered modern medical technologies, and can compete at the national and international levels in the future. This diploma awarding is valued as an important result of the educational reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan and the international cooperation policy being expanded under the initiative of the President.
