A man in custody at Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, passed away. This individual was detained for questioning on charges of raping his underage stepmother. Following disputes regarding his death, a forensic examination was conducted, which determined that the cause of death was a heart attack.
Circumstances of Detention and Allegations
An official informed a news agency that Pradip was brought to the Sidhauli police station on Sunday evening. His seventeen-year-old stepmother filed a complaint alleging that he had been raping her for the past three years. On Monday, Pradip was buried under heavy police guard.
Police Statement
Police Superintendent (SP) Saurabh Dikshit stated that in her complaint, the girl accused her stepmother of sexual exploitation over three years. Furthermore, she claimed that even after the marriage two months ago, he prevented her from visiting her husband's home. The girl stated that her stepmother continued to exploit her after the marriage, and if she objected, she threatened to tell her husband everything.
