Deputies of the Legislative Chamber reviewed several legislative initiatives, including the adoption of norms against sexual harassment in the workplace, strengthening fines for expired food, and changing criminal case procedures.

Changes in Criminal Procedure

Deputies discussed a draft law that provides for amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code and the Law 'On Advocacy'. According to the proposal, it is now possible to submit not only an indictment or an accusation to a criminal case, but also the opinion of the defense attorney.

It is also planned to grant the defense attorney the right to present their 'opinion' within five days after the completion of the preliminary investigation or interrogation. This document may reflect objections to the accusation, evidence, circumstances mitigating punishment, as well as requests to summon certain persons to court.

Consumer Protection

The Council also considered a bill aimed at protecting consumer rights. It proposes to amend Article 178 of the Code of Administrative Liability. The goal is to increase fines for selling food products with an expired shelf life, as well as for marketing goods that require indication of the date of manufacture and shelf life without providing such information.

New Norms in the Labor Code

In addition, deputies are studying a bill concerning amendments to the Labor Code. This project aims to implement the norms of International Labour Organization Convention No. 111 into national legislation.

According to this project, the list of signs of discrimination in labor and employment will be expanded to include the concepts of 'skin color' and 'political views'. Furthermore, it is proposed to introduce a new norm into the Labor Code prohibiting sexual harassment in the workplace.

The United States government is studying the possibility of introducing entry restrictions into the country for women who are not US citizens and are in advanced stages of pregnancy, with the aim of countering 'medical tourism.'

Attempts to Regulate Immigration

According to the newspaper 'Telegraph', the White House administration is considering new measures to limit the entry of foreign women seeking to obtain American citizenship through childbirth. This was also reported by an 'SBS News' source.

Previous Legislative Changes

After entering a second term, President Donald Trump signed a special decree that cancels the automatic citizenship system for infants born on US territory. This provision, introduced by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, states that it should only apply to children of parents legally and permanently residing in the country. After the Supreme Court suspended the initiative, the head of state called this decision a 'victory for China' and called on Congress to change the legislation.

Government Concerns

According to government officials, such a tourist flow poses a threat to national security. There is a fear that children born to foreign mothers may later steal American intellectual property while studying at US higher education institutions.

Statistics and Goal of Restrictions

According to available data, approximately 26,000 children are born annually in the United States to foreign parents, and the current ban aims to stop this flow.

A systematic inspection continues to protect consumer rights and ensure that safe and quality products enter the market. During recent checks, it was found that some perfume products sold in the Tashkent region do not comply with established technical requirements.

Conducting Inspection Activities

The Technical Regulation Inspection of the territorial department in the Tashkent region conducted checks at retail points. Samples were taken from eight different types of perfume products and subsequently subjected to laboratory tests to assess their safety indicators and compliance with current technical standards.

Violations Identified

Specifically, samples of a perfume product named 'Infinite Love', imported by the company 'SEANS MEAN' LLC, registered at Sh. Rashidova Street in the city of Chirchik, Tashkent region, underwent laboratory analysis. The results showed that this product does not meet the established standards. It was noted that the mass fraction of ethyl alcohol in the product's composition does not comply with regulatory requirements.

Measures Taken

Warning letters were sent to the trade entities regarding the identified violations. Furthermore, appropriate measures were taken to withdraw this product from circulation and suspend its sale.
