Businessman and AmaZulu FC owner Sandile Zungu confirmed that he will compete with Danny Jordan for the position of SAFA president at the association's electoral congress in September. Reports indicate that Zungu has become the preferred candidate of the lobbying group Save Our SAFA. Most importantly, he is capable of helping to reposition SAFA as an institution capable of attracting sponsors and restoring public trust. A modern football association must combine football intelligence with corporate discipline to realize the immense talent and passion inherent in South African football.
