In one of the hostel rooms in Jaipur, three young students were working on creating an application called Swappr. Initially, it was just a discussion among friends, but the project evolved into an app designed to simplify, smarten up, and make the process of buying, selling, and exchanging items on campus more engaging.
From Idea to Campus Solution
Harvit Dudejah, the founder of Swappr, noted that their main motivation is a love for the creation process. He emphasized that they are focused on the development process itself rather than long-term forecasts.
Harvit, a second-year engineering student at Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) in Jaipur, formed the idea with his classmate Priyansh Joshi and school friend Lakshya Mangloy, who studies at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), based on a common student problem.
The Problem and the Solution
Initially, Harvit and Priyansh tried to run a business selling goods, taking orders in cafes and restaurants. However, they encountered difficulties and fraud, which prompted them to abandon that project and start something new.
