The partnership between China and Namibia has transformed into a series of tangible projects covering areas from space technology and road infrastructure to green energy production and aquaculture, thereby supporting Namibia's long-term development goals.
Development of Satellite Capabilities
In November 2025, China and Namibia signed a certificate for the transfer and acceptance of a Chinese ground data reception station from a satellite and the corresponding processing system in Windhoek. The official handover of the project to Namibia took place in February 2026, marking an important step in strengthening the country's scientific and space potential, its ability to respond to natural disasters, and promoting innovative development.
