Humanity traditionally considers itself the most developed, intelligent, and powerful species on Earth, thanks to its achievements in science, technology, and civilization building, which allowed us to occupy the highest rung of the planet's ecosystem. However, when it comes to pure survival ability and resilience, the tiny creature—the cockroach—surpasses humans. Scientifically speaking, humans are relatively new players on this planet, whereas cockroaches have existed for millions of years, surviving all global catastrophes.
Biological Similarities and Differences
Although humans are vertebrates and cockroaches are invertebrate insects, there are some fundamental biological commonalities between them. Both species are omnivorous, capable of consuming both plant matter and meat. Furthermore, both possess a central nervous system that controls the body and a strong reproductive instinct to continue their lineage.
The ability to adapt to various conditions allows both species to be found in almost every corner of the world, from Antarctica to hot deserts.
