The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai announced that the time required to put buses on routes will be reduced to less than one minute. Previously, this process took between thirty and sixty minutes.
New Transport Management System
This achievement was made possible by the implementation of RTA's intelligent artificial intelligence-based system, which is designed for efficient management and operation of the bus fleet under various working conditions. The system ensures that the response of the buses is coordinated with changes in the operation of other modes of public transport, including the Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram.
System Functionality and Goals
According to the agency's press release, this technology monitors over 1100 buses and supports 26 different operational scenarios. The statement emphasized that this development aligns with Dubai's course toward becoming a smart city.
The system, named the 'Decision Support System,' uses AI capabilities to ensure real-time decision-making. Through the application of machine learning technologies and advanced optimization algorithms, it instantly identifies and directs the most suitable buses.
