A serious systemic issue has arisen in the state of Madhya Pradesh concerning a hospital in the Hazrana area of Indore. A 100-bed civil hospital was announced six years ago, but as of today, the hospital building has not been constructed. Despite the absence of a physical facility, 87 positions were approved for this hospital, and staff have been transferred there over many years.
Project History and Land Issues
The approval of the 100-bed civil hospital in Hazrana took place on June 23, 2020. Eighty-seven positions were approved, including specialists, medical workers, nurses, lab technicians, and pharmacists. However, after six years, land for the construction of the hospital has not been allocated, and construction work has not begun.
This raises a critical question about how appointments and staff transfers could have been carried out for the hospital when its building does not exist. For example, on June 15, 2026, a lab technician was transferred to the Hazrana Civil Hospital.
