Contrary to common expectation, older vehicles with manual transmissions showed the largest price increase in the pre-owned market, according to a survey conducted by OLX.
Vehicle Appreciation Analysis
A study conducted by Data OLX Autos indicated that most versions of cars aged between 13 and 20 years, monitored by the platform, became more expensive between May 2025 and May 2026. Some of these models registered an appreciation close to 15% in just one year.
The analysis considered the average advertised price on OLX for the five most representative cars of each body type (hatch, sedan, and SUV) within the Used Vehicle Index (IVU), which was calculated in collaboration with Fenauto. It is important to note that the values presented are from advertisements, not from actual sales.
