Young footballer Callum Anthony, representing Hartvastan, has gained provincial recognition after receiving KwaZulu-Natal colours and being appointed captain of one of the province's youth football teams.
Tournament Participation
Thirteen-year-old Callum Anthony will lead the KZN U13 team, known as Amabhungu, in the KZN Youth Cup, which will take place from July 8 to 10 at Durban North College.
A seventh-grade student from Parkside Primary School in Malvern recently received his provincial colours during the KZNIPSSA U13 boys' capping ceremony. KZNIPSSA is a leading provincial football development program that identifies and nurtures promising young players for representation at provincial and national levels.
Personal Ambitions and Development
Callum noted that receiving his provincial colours was a proud moment, but the appointment as captain was an unexpected honour. He stated that he enjoys playing football and showcasing his talent on the field, and that football has helped him make new friends.
This young midfielder, who can also play on the right flank, reported that he constantly works to improve his game. He added that by watching the World Cup, he learns from professionals, and he trains diligently himself to perfect his skills.
